I've read once in National Geografic an article about India and there I found a graphics " Elephant cavalry of India Emperor". I had to read the title again to believe it was not about female elephants. As it turns out it's a military group of elephants. Cool. It must be a view - army of swinging elephants. It's such a grotesque idea that it's hard to think it was a horrible killing machine.
It's better to think about elephants in terms of parade-aimed regiment : elephants marching in order keeping pace and intervals between each other each with bedspread on its back with gold arabesque-style embroideries. Each elephant well fed, squeaky clean, with tail-hair nicely trimmed, looked after and drilled.
